We were in Austin for 6 weeks and had a great time. My mom and sister came to visit one weekend and we went to San Antonio. Ava did great and it was her first little weekend getaway!
After Austin, we headed back to Lubbock for a few days to unpack, visit the dr. for a round of shots, get mail and repack for vacation.
Ava flew in style on her first plane ride. She flew first class! She did really good, except for being a little squirmy. We arrived in Salt Lake City and went and visited Steve's gparents and aunt/uncle/cousin. We then headed to Steve's brother's house. We went to Seven Peaks with everyone. Seven Peaks was Ava's 3rd waterpark. She loves the water and takes great naps outdoors.
We then headed up to Wyoming to visit Steve's parents. We had a great time with them. We took Ava on her first 4-wheeler ride. She went to Bear Lake and had family pictures. I made her a tutu and all the girls had their pics taken in them. Steve and I tried to tube the creek on his parents property but it was so cold for me it took my breath away and I was on the back of this raft thing and Steve was practically sitting on top of me so I got out!
Next stop was New Jersey. However, we went to the airport only to find our plane cancelled so we had to go the next day. Again, Ava rode in style and rode home from the airport in a Limo. Yes, she is living it up! She met all of her cousins on my side.
While in New Jersey, we went on the boardwalk, went to the beach (twice..she's a beach bum and took great naps to the sound of the ocean), went to Atlantic City (grandpa babysat) , saw a Broadway Play with the girls (Steve babysat), had a massage had Red Door Spa with my mom (thanks Steve and Danielle for babysitting), went to the movies (Ava slept the whole time), went on the boat and used my new PINK waterski, and sat by the pool. We had a great time and it was sad to leave.
After boarding the plane back to Lubbock, we had to de-plane and I had to rebook my flight...flying is so annoying, but I have to do it to vacation so I guess it's part of life...better than driving for days to get somewhere I guess (although Steve would nearly disagree).
Ava did great during all this time that we were dragging her everywhere. She has slept in so many different beds, rooms, and places. At the age of 4 months she has been to:
Lubbock, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Salt Lake City, Wyoming, New Jersey! She has been to the lake, beach, 3 waterparks, the city, 4 wheeling, flew first class, and been in 3 limos!
We had a wonderful summer and are now back to Lubbock. We are trying to return to a normal life and get back in a routine. We went swimming last night and Tech's new pool. It was so nice and Ava loved the lazy river! She loves taking naps to the sound of water and the cool evening breeze..she is her mother's daughter!
We'll have her swimming in no time.
Ava is now 4 months..some milestones
She smiles a lot more now
Sleeps until about 4:30 or 5:30, eats then sleeps until about 8:30
Still just drinks milk
Rolls from stomach to back
Rolled once from back to stomach
holds her head up great
Can do a full circle on her tummy
Had her first cold
Babbles lots..she is qute the talker (again mother's daughter!)

isn't it crazy.. we think because we have a baby our lifestyles will change completely.. won't do as many things but for the most part it doesn't.. we just drag them along... if they like it or not! But traveling is much more tiring than it used to be that's for sure!!
Finally you updated. You have a spelling error right before red door spa. I loved her little bum. i can't wait to see Ava in September. We miss her so much.
I am going into the hospital this Monday for my scheduled c-section... My Mom and Erin are coming into town today and Kiel took the entire week off next week.. so I'm soooo ready to go!! I'm just trying to stay as busy as possible but it's so tough with it being over 105 everyday!! Scrapbooking, sewing, cleaning and cooking only lasts so long... Enjoy being home with your beautiful little AVa... I'm excited to have a little one around again!!
Hey Marisssa-it's Bonnie...we hung out a couple times with amber and jp. Ava is so adorable!! Hope your liking Texas! My sister and bro in law went there for law school too. They loved Texas. Looks like you guys are doing great and staying WAY busy!!

Congrats on the baby!!! It was so fun to find your blog and to see how you guys are doing. We are in Seattle now and we think yall should come out here and visit. It would be alot of fun. Your little girl is adorable!!!!I love the pictures you took of her professional. Brett wanted this to be from him but he wanted me to say whats up bro? He wants Steve to call him sometime and catch up. I am glad everything is going well.
I am a month late seeing this post, but better late than never! So glad you guys have had a blast of a summer!! It's really fun to travel and do lots while in the summer. And I'm happy to see you're not letting parenthood get in the way of having fun. Too many people do that. AND not many people will tell you this but Ava's age is the best for traveling because they stay right with you the whole time! On a different note, I have to say, Tyler had a good laugh when I told him how your dad sends a car service/limo to get you guys from the airport--he was reading over my shoulder. Too great!
What a trip. Lucky you! Love the photo of her butt. She is a lucky little girl.
