Would you put your child in an all Boy/Girl Class?

(post by Marissa) I would! They are piloting some of these types of PUBLIC schools from Alabama to Wisconsin. The school itself is not an all boy or girl school, but the classes are (if you choose). They still have classes with both genders, but you can choose to place your child in a single gender classroom. Read article here http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/02/magazine/02sex3-t.html?_r=2&hp&oref=slogin&oref=slogin

They have some in Dallas so if we move to Dallas, I will def look into it. I like how the overall school has both genders, but then their classrooms are split. Leave it to the ACLU to say that boys are girls aren't different. I mean the results are showing that both sexes are doing better and happier, but the ACLU doesn't care about those stats. Case and point, they are not really about actually helping people.

So now another book to my list is "Boys and Girls Learn Differently." I have read other articles about this, but have not read the book.

I totally would! A couple years ago they had this episode on Dateline (I think) about America's school systems. It was very interesting and very eye-opening. I think it would be best for everyone. I also think that uniforms should be mandatory.

I would, too. I've heard studies about it, and I'm all for it. I agree that boys and girls learn completely different from each other.

Hey Marissa! I saw your comment and wanted to say hello. I am living in Arizona working for KPMG. I just got my CPA this week, so I am super excited to have it done. I will be on leave until August and then go back part time. What are you up to? Would love to catch up.

I finished up my CPA Stuff too and it's so great to have it done :) I can't believe you have a little one! I'm sure she'll be swimming in no time, right!! Well, I am so glad to hear from you and see what's up in your life. Your husband just has 1 year left in law school right?

Wow - I don't know where to start with all of your updates. Hooray to first year being done; Rich Dad, Poor Dad is on my reading list too; your Nursery class was AMAZINGLY quiet (it was like there were no kids in there) - you guys do such an awesome job with that; and I would seriously consider putting my kiddos in separate classes. It was quite eye-opening to me to see how much Ben, who in my very biased opinion is pretty smart, was disadvantaged in his nursery class because he had different ways that he learned or things he liked to do than the quieter girls. I'll have to put that book on my "to read" list too - okay I think that's sufficiently long. Sorry!! :)

Cool article, a long one! I never thought about that before. I would definitely but Cameron in an all boys class.
