George Strait is Comin'

About a month ago, when Marissa told me George Strait was coming to Lubbock on March 7th, I had a flashback. Four years ago, I bought tickets to see George at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The concert was in February, and I bought the tickets the previous September--five months in advance. The night before driving down to Vegas, I called Ticketmaster to make sure my tickets were ready to be picked up. I was shocked to learn that the September-transaction never went through and that I was ticketless. I was pissed (excuse my language, but that's how I felt). I heard rumors that this was George's final tour, and I knew that this Vegas concert was my last chance to see him perform. After several minutes of chewing out Ticketmaster and threatening to sue them for their carelessness, I finally came to the realization that I was out of luck.

Several weeks later, my debit card statement came in the mail. I couldn't believe my eyes. I was charged for two George Strait tickets held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. I was furious. How could those morons at Ticketmaster do this? Then came the embarrassing moment. With a closer look I saw the name not of the careless pricks that I had so graciously chastised, but of MGM Grand. I was embarrassed and quickly abased. After all was said and done, MGM refunded me my money and all was fine and dandy, except I didn't get to see George in action.

Fortunately, this time around I have possession of the tickets to avoid any confusion. Our seats aren't great (which is a story in and of itself), but at least we're going to see the greatest country musician of all time. George Strait is from a place not too far from Lubbock, so it should be a pretty exciting concert. The concert sold out in seven hours! I will let you know how it goes.
