Steve and Miss Getaway

Steve and I don't go on dates enough and we hardly ever leave the kids.  However, we did manage to sneak away for 48 hours.  We left Thursday after lunch and didn't come home until Saturday late afternoon.  Steve's parents came and watched the kids for us.  The kids were so excited.  On Thursday we ran some errands and did a little bit of shopping.  Steve needed some work and workout clothes so we got most of it done.  Then we had dinner in SLC at Bambara.  Dinner was excellent.  Thursday night we headed to Park City to check in at our hotel, Stein Erikson.  It's the only 5 Star Hotel in utah and we hadn't stayed there yet  so  I was excited.  I didn't know where we were staying until we were driving up.  Friday we woke up and went on a walk around Deer Valley area.  It has been raining for the last 3 or 4 weeks so we were grateful for the sunny blue skies.  We had a hot tub on our deck so we got in the hot tub after our walk, changed our clothes and headed out for our next adventure.  Steve booked a horse back ride up Browns CAnyon.  He had been wanting to see that area. We had a beautiful ride.  Friday afternoon, we stopped on Main Street and had a great lunch at 501 on Main.  We sat by the pool for a bit then headed back to Main Street.  We walked through the shops and ate at Wasatch Pub, again another great meal for both of us.  We both had salads.  We thought about seeing a movie, but hte movie times didn't work.  Saturday, we worked out, went on a hike, and had an amazing breakfast at the hotel restaurant.  Steve had a Egg Bake with avocado, beans, eggs, etc and it was delicious.  They make their own salted butter and Steve kept eating toast so he could have the butter.  We decided to go to a few of the ski shops to look for ski clothes for Noah.  We found him so pants so now he just needs a cool coat. We sat by the pool some more, ran a few more errands and headed home.  The whole trip was perfect and exactly what we needed.  When we got home our kids didn't want Grandma and Grandpa to leave.  I guess they did too good of a job!
