A few random happenings of late.
Ava, Reese, and Anna all love Liam. There is no shortage of people to hold him. This is New Year's Eve at Ben and Wendy's house. We had a get together with the Jensens. Everyone had a lot of fun and Liam was spoiled with plenty of attention.
On December 30th, Steve was supposed to be home from work around 2 or 3 and we were going to run errands. It was around 3:30 and Steve still wasn't home. He said, "I couldn't resist, I stopped at a car dealership to look at cars for you." And with that, that started the car bug for me. We had talked about getting a new car in the spring since my Tahoe was almost 12 years old and things were starting to break. Steve made some calls and tried to locate some white suburbans. Inventory on Suburbans was very low, especially with the specifics that we needed/I wanted. The next day, we dropped Ava off at Ben and Wendy's house and we went car shopping. We went to a dealership Steve had been working with a little bit and found one we liked. However, it was a little more than we wanted to spend. We went back and forth on bucket/bench seat. We ultimately decided on bench so we could bring more people with us. There was one White Suburban in the state of Utah that had what we were looking for. We headed over to Gus Palos Chevy in West Valley around 2pm. They had a White z71 Suburban. At first I didn't want a z71, but it looked good and the body style was the same as a regular suburban. The main differences include a more all terrain tire, a different step, and better towing capabilities. I was hesitant about the tires and the step, so Mike, our salesmen offered to change both to the LTZ model. I was thrilled. Steve loved it and was a little disappointed when I didn't want it at first because of my few hangups. However, Mike saved the day. Steve was pumped. He said he didn't care, but I could tell when I didn't want it, he was a bit annoyed. It has navigation, two Blu-Ray DVD players, sunroof, black leather, keyless entry and much more. Basically it's fully loaded with everything. There are so many features I can't even pick my favorite. I would say the keyless entry and push start though. My keys can stay in my purse. I am never looking for keys anymore. I also love the automatic tailgate. After we bought it, we headed to Ben and Wendy's for a New Year's Eve Party. We didn't get there until almost 7:30. That night I was wondering if we made the right choice. I hoped it would look less bulky with the new tires and running board. I also felt this emptiness as our old Tahoe was gone. I met Steve in that car! We have had it for every move, house, baby, etc. It was part of us. Steve had to go back to the dealership a few days later to trade out the tires and running board and I made sure he snapped a picture of the Tahoe. So many memories with that car! Well, the tires were changed and a new running board and I love my car! It's perfect and exactly what I wanted. I feel like it was meant for us.
