Liam's Baby Blessing

Liam's Baby Blessing
Highland 39th Ward
Sunday, December 7, 2014

Originally, we were going to bless Liam in our home on November 15th, 2014.  However, that morning it was snowy and a little icy.  Rather than have people drive in the snow and ice, Steve thought it wise to postpone the blessing.  The snow cleared and the day ended up being nice so we could have done the blessing, but in the end it all worked out.  I think for some reason his blessing wasn't supposed to be that day in our home. We were doing it then so Steve's grandparents could come, but it just didn't work out.  We ended up blessing him a few weeks later in Sacrament meeting on Fast Sunday.  Steve's siblings and their families and his parents along with Alisha and Dallin and Shannon attended.  Steve gave the most beautiful blessing.  I still think back to it and remember how great it was.  It made me think, this little Liam must really be something special. God must have a great work for him!  It was so powerful. I wish I would have recorded it.  I have it written down as best as I could.  After church everyone came to our house for a lunch.  We had French Dip and BBQ Chicken Sandwiches with salads, desserts, and fruit.  My parents couldn't come because my mom was undergoing Chemo for Pancreatic Cancer.  I missed her so much.  At first I had a hard time thinking about the blessing without my parents being there.  My mom, in all her greatness though, had the best fruit bouquetmade for the event.  It was so good and everyone loved it.  She's amazing.
