Baby Shower

(post by Marissa) Thank you Mindy for telling me why everyting was in html code. Now I can post!!! My mom (and dad) came and visited in November and while she was here we looked at lots of baby stuff! She really wanted me to register. I felt like the baby wasn't going to be here in forever, but she thought I should register. So of course, we did! If you remember our itinerary for Christmas the girls were having lunch on Saturday and the boys were doing taxes. To me this made complete sense because often the girls will go shopping or to the spa and the boys will watch the kiddos and talk business/politics/money, etc (those are the only topics allowed in my house and church).

Friday night my sister in law calls and says, "Hey, what's the plan for tomorrow?" I respond, "Didn't you get the itinerary..the girls are going to lunch." She asks, "Are sister in laws invited?" I say, "Are you kidding..yes ALL girls are going."

Saturday morning, we get up go for a walk on the boardwalk and then I get ready for lunch and Steve gets to play with the guys at home and do tax stuff..so I thought. I had planned on wearing a simple dress, but I didnt want to be too dressed up because I figured my sisters would be wearing jeans (dressy type) with some sweater. However, as we were getting ready everyone was getting more dressed up than expected. So I decided to change to the dress I really wanted to wear, but didnt at first since I didn't want to be too dressed up. I am glad I changed!! We are going to Sugar Hill Inn which is a very cute little restaurant on the water. We arrive and my sister says we are with Danielle. In the corner of my eye, I see a pink cake and think that is kind of weird. Then I walk in and everyone is there eating and such. I finally realize we were there for a baby shower for ME! I was completely surprised and had no idea. Neither did Steve. My mom figured if she told Steve then no way would it be a surprise. He and I are not good at that....The food was excellent and we had the whole place to ourselves. We played some fun games, chatted, ate, etc. Another thing my mom did to throw me off is she gave me a whole bunch of Polo dresses and a diaper bag as part of Christmas. I am usually really good at figuring things out, but I had no idea! My mom, sisters, and sisters in law did a great job. We had really cute lip gloss and chocolate lollipop favors.

Thank you to everyone who helped with the shower..It was great. Steve and I feel blessed to have such great family and friends. Thank you mom for everything! You are the best!
