(post by MArissa) I will post some pics of me at 15 and 16 weeks in a couple of days, but for now you will have to read the inner thoughts of Marissa. I don't know why I still put post by MArissa. I think it is obvious every post is by me.
Back to the original point of the post. In one of my first accounting classes, the great Norm Nemrow said, "follow someone's checkbook and you will see what they value. " Well, I think it also goes for time. Steve and I frequently discuss how much America spends on entertainment and sports and what kind of message that sends to the youth. It was evident when I was at the gym on Saturday morning where our time and money goes to in the fall...FOOTBALL. There were at least 12 TV's in that gym ALL on FOOTBALL (well maybe 2 on news). I could not believe how much time and money is wasted on watching it. I mean I can understand spending a Saturday morning with some guys playing it, good exercise, spend time with some friends, fresh air, etc. But to watch it like all day because there is not just one game, but several. It is not just Saturday, but Sunday and Monday night too. Granted I am not a TV watcher or even much of a sitter, so I cannot fully appreciate it, but it seems like a waste of time to me. I mean it can't be fun for the little ones that may be running around or for the wives. Maybe in the next life, I will have the love of watching sports revealed to me. Actually, it's not even just sports, it's really just TV in general. I just don't see the point of half (okay 99%) of the shows on. I like 60 minutes. Thankfully, Steve just checks the scores at the end of the weekend. Then he knows the same as everyone else who spent all weekend watching it. Hopefully, as he has more time, he does not turn to torturing me with football watching :) As a sidenote, I don't mind getting together and watching it with some friends (then I have some girls to talk to) or going to the game with some friends (again people watching or a girl to talk to), but to just watch it by ourselves in our house is too much for me. I know part of my problem is I have absolutely no clue how you even score except a touchdown. Steve explained what some stuff was to me last week, but it didn't help that much. Now, if you asked me to go play, I probably would because at least I wouldnt be sitting (and did play with my brothers when I was little). I was pretty good at doing that zig zag type running!
Steve's contribution: "Your posts are always so full of strong opinions that have potential of offending the reader."
I hope I do not offend anyone because I hope to have this joy reveled to me in my next life. And who knows, maybe after I have this little baby, I will be able to sit still and will relish in my sitting time and I can eat all my words.
Steve once told me that he would handle a certain situation that was delicate because I was no diplomat.

I agree 100% with everything you said. Last night we watched the Red Sox vs. Angels game and my dad and Morgan would not let my mom and I watch Meet Joe Black. I get so bored with watching sports! It's fun to go to the games but to waste time watching them at home and then watch them again on ESPN I mean honestly!! WASTE!!!
I never said congrats by the way! just a little longer and you'll know what you are having right? how exciting.
I love football. I know me and Nate spend way too much time watching sports but we can't help ourselves. For some reason it is exciting to us. We probably should have our cable cut so we won't be so tempted.
