(Post by Marissa) I never thought this day would come. My whole life, I have done school. That was my focus and now I'm done. When I originally started work, I thought I need to go back to school and get a PhD. I went through post-graduation withdrawals/real world fear! I envied Steve because he still had classes, hw, and library times. However, I am beginning to see the endless possibilities of things I can do beyond school with my time. I am getting very excited for all of it.
I took the last section of the CPA exam on Friday and have more time than I have ever had in my whole life. After leaving the testing center, I thought to myself "well, that feels pretty good, but I was hoping for an even better feeling." Then I got in the car and a good song came on and I started going crazy. It feels great to be done with my formal schooling (education is never complete of course). I have a master's degree and a CPA (assuming I passed the last section). The only other thing I can really get is a PhD, which I was leaning towards, but I think I may enjoy doing other things with my free time such as knitting, scrapbooking, civic activities, and volunteer work. I am very nervous that I won't be as productive with my time since I have no deadlines for these goals and no grade so I made a list of things I wanted to do/learn in the next few months.
My free time will not last too long because tax season starts in January and I will probably be working from 7:30 am to 7 pm. So some of my ideas will have to take the back seat until after April 15th!
First Saturday of non-studying: woke up (still before 7 am..I can't sleep in), went to the gym for 1.5 hrs (i admit i talked to cori a lot though!), then went to the craft store with Julie to make a magnetic board for my nursery class, hung out with her and her lil girl. Went to the movies with Steve.

Congratulations on finishing your CPA exams Miss! What a great accomplishment! Take advantage of all that extra free time while you can! Once you have kids that free time becomes non-existent!

the same time u update your blog! haha!
Hey Marissa, we're game anytime you want to enjoy some non-studying activities! Congrats on the CPA!
